Great analogy of how music scenes organically coalesce and organize, to how labor unions do what they do -- makes it seem doable for music laborers to work toward getting proper rewards for their work. Keep it up!
Sorry I missed this -- sounds like it was a great show!.... It brought to mind the day I showed up at the Occupy site near South Station. A bus pulled up and women in blue started filing out -- turns out they were, I think, nurses from New Hampshire. The crowd went wild! And then Cornel West got off a bus, big smile, waving. More crowd-goes-nuts. Occupy was unorganized and widely criticized as . . . what? Adolescent preening? Unorganized, undisciplined. But in that election season suddenly every political candidate of every stripe was talking about "fairness." I lot of water over the dam since then, but issues remain the same. Or, as an old friend of mine used to say, "The struggle continues."
