I like the music by these artists. I also like a lot of Stockhausen. I have no idea what you are going on about, tbh.

'I hate this music' would accurately summarise your comment, be much easier *and* less time consuming to write (and read). You might even feel a bit better afterwards.

I can't see the sense of your comment. It's OK if you don't like composers like Radigue, no one says you have to. But many of us love this kind of music. And I do not think of talking or reading about music that amazes me as "tactics" to convince anyone. Just listen to what you love and let other people do the same.

Thank you Damon! I sensed I would find this kind of essay by subscribing and you delivered.

There are so many remarkable humans who have dedicated their lives to work that does not fall within the confines of acceptability / readily accessible. Often difficult to find until somehow popularized, the fringes of art and expression provide a window into the future— often quite obscured but then, this is a central, and deeply inspiring part of the experience. You have yet again provided me with an access point of resonance, inspiration, and connection.

Very excited for this book. "Perhaps the importance of a single overarching story is one of the myths diversity can explode?" -- this thought has been lingering with me all day. My colleague and I are about to embark on a research project that looks at this a bit. ty!

Thanks for the suggestion and the wonderful writing, Damon! I did not know about half of these composers and now I'm completely intrigued to read Molleson's book and listen to them. What amazing stories!

Thanks for the heads-up on this book. I just pre-ordered it because I’m very familiar with all of these composers and would love to read someone else’s thoughts on them. The recordings are absolutely wonderful and it’s such a delight to have some more writings about their creative methods.
